auntielizzie
Just went to tuck the girls in for the night and got a wonderful surprise in the nest box - Bessie had laid an egg She laid her last egg on 26 Sept and started moulting a few days later. She laid a softy in October then her moult finished around 19 November. She's now back to her beautiful big fluffy lovely self and her wattles and comb are lovely and big and red again, so I hoped she might lay before Christmas. Today was the day I was so happy; I congratulated and thanked her very much and skipped back into the house and showed it to OH (who was underwhelmed as usual - chickens not his thing ). Fingers crossed we are now a two egg a day household and all is well with the world
