My bluebell refused to go into the coop tonight...

Recommended Posts

so she is now in a cardboard box in the playroom! :?

Went out and closed the cube & thought I would clear the snow of the tarpaulin I have over there run. Imagine my surprise to find my bluebell (Pearl) huddled on top of the cube run, under the tarpaulin.

I picked her up and put her into the run but she refused to go into the coop so now she is an a cardboard box in the playroom.

Should I be doing anything else? :?:

She is a nice weight. Her feet looked ok & her comb is nice red...just a little bit paler than usual but not much. She's perky & gave me a right mouthful when I put her in the box.

Any advise gratefully received.

P.S the other 2 are safely in the coop :D

two of mine regularly refuse and I have to put them in, so don't panic. However check for red mite...its a common reason for coop refusal...other than that I would just see how she does overnight...

there are people with much more knowledge than me on here who will have better advice :)

Must admit Plum that sound like it. When I looked in the cube last night one of my girls was in the nesting box while the other one was on the roosting bars. I thought it was strange as they normally huddle together.

Well this morning Pearl was completely none the worse for sleeping in a cardboard box! Got a mouthful of abuse when I got her out and she was feisty :lol:

Put her in the run, put down the fresh water, scattered some meal worm and then let the other two out.

No squabbles....straight for the food!! 8)

Will keep an eye on them today. I reckon it's Ruby getting too bossy!! :( Don't want her going for the feathers again as they're looking good again as they're almost through the moult :D
