Honey is an eighteen month old Finnish Spitz She joined us yesterday on a trial basis (according to Mr Griffin) but I don't think she's going anywhere

 

She belonged to one of Mollys friends who had moved into a smaller rented house and they're unable to keep two of their three dogs. Molly has always loved Honey and said she wanted a Finnish Spitz when she's older because Honey was so perfect. Honey gave birth to a litter of dead & deformed puppies about a month ago, they were over due and Honey probably could've done with a c-section Molly had been really looking forward to the birth and hoped to persuade Mr Griffin that we should have a puppy Honey was adopted from a rescue a year ago that has since been closed due to cruelty So the poor girl has had a tough time of it.

 

We arranged to accidentally on purpose meet Honey yesterday morning while out walking our dogs Lizzie & Ella. Ella really enjoyed playing with Honey but Lizzie pretended she couldn't see her She came home with us and we've had a huge amount of fun with her.

 

She's getting used to the cats but despite living with chickens previously she thinks ours are dinner That area obviously needs more work! Thankfully mardy old moo Lizzie seems to be tolerating Honey, and Honey is being incredibly respectful so fingers crossed this works out.

 

Not a breed I would've chosen in a million years but I'm madly in love with her already. She'll be bereft when the girls go to school tomorrow and I cannot wait to have her all to myself!

We had a Spitz called Frisky when I was about 8. He was gorgeous too, just like Honey but pure white . I think he was a German Spitz.

She's had a really good day We had a lovely off lead romp around the woods this morning, near perfect re-call and exceedingly well behaved in the car. She's had two walks after school because the girls were arguing over her and insisted on going out seperately

 

Making good progress with the cats, roast chicken helped I was preparing it for dinner and had quite an audience, she was sat next to Nancy who earlier in the day she was too terrified to walk past. Nancy was sat on the middle of the stairs scowling and hissing, Honey refused to walk past her Most of the cats stand up to her and she avoids them but neither Ruby or Rory will come downstairs to meet her yet.

 

The only problem is she has to be on her lead in the garden and as soon as the chickens see her they start yelling at each other there is a fox in the garden Maybe I ought to show them a picture of a fox, I can see how they're confused though!

I know this problem well I also have a dog that looks like a fox (and behaves like a fox) 7 months on from adopting her from rescue, she still has to be on the lead in the garden, or at the very least have the lead trailing with hubby or I stood close by ready to grab it, as she just cannot stop herself from charging at the chicken run. Every day we make teeny tiny bits of progress and I know one day she will get there and learn to behave... I just wish she'd hurry up and get on with it!
