I need a new freezer - chest or upright - I don't mind. It will live in the garage/shed - I was thinking a 300 or 400 litre chest freezer but OH thinks an upright would be more practical

Does anyone have any recommendations?

As it's going to be in a cold place you need to make sure that it will still run in cold temps. I think only chest freezers will.

Ditto, when I bought our last freezer, the first question I was asked by our fabulous retailer was if it was going to be kept inside or outside. Our last one we kept outside and it died in the winter 2 years ago, I think down to the cold weather and it not being able to function in these temperatures.

I'd go for a frost-free chest freezer. I have an Electrolux. I used to hate defrosting my old chest freezer - it took ages and was such a mess..!

Beko uprights will also work in cold places too. Personally I prefer uprights to chest freezers... Easier to locate things!
