Darcy Bussell! According to the 1pm news today!

 

I am very excited! She should be soooo much better than Aleesha was. She has always seemed really nice in my limited experience, and really hope she will be able to give some great constructive advice to the celebs.

She was a guest judge on the last series. I think she is a good choice but guess time will tell if they have got it right. A lot depends on how she fits in with the other personalities on the judging panel.

Me too - she really knew what she was on about, mad as a fruit bat but she shared my appreciation of Mark Ramprakash.

I think it should have been Karen Hardy, but have no complaints about Darcy Bussell. At least she was a dancer, and will be a big improvement on Alesha.

 

It will be interesting to see if her presence on the judging panel will affect the behaviour of the others!

I don't mind Darcy but I really was hoping it would be Karen Hardy - I love her critique of Strictly on ITT.

 

It will be interesting to see how she gets on. I just hope Len calms down a bit for the new series or at least takes some chill pills.

Same here Seagazer, I think Darcy will be a really good judge but personally I would have liked to have seen Karen Hardy replace Alesha.

Len definitely needs to chill out this year, he was really OTT last series!

I have read that Len is 'angry-ing it up' under orders from the producers who want to see more infighting from the judges This isn't an American game show... what I want to see is good honest judging from experts in their field and not histrionics and fights for 'personality of the year'

Couldn't agree more, DM. I find all the in-fighting and general throwing of toys out of the pram very irritating. I'd rather they just got on with the job of judging.

Having been involved in a reality TV programme myself (funnily for someone who hardly watches more than an hour a week) I know how much setting up there is and arranged situations and 'rows'

I guess that is all why I like the idea of Darcy. She doesn't SEEM to be a controversial figure, and would hope she would just give some good advice and encouragement. And also know what she is talking about!

 

I've never warmed to Karen Hardy. Can't critisise her at all, just never warmed to her...
