kazmac
I'm looking for tips on a good book to teach me how to crochet - a family friend taught me years ago when I was very young but I hardly ever see her now as she lives some distance away and I've forgotten other than doing a chain! I see so many beautiful crochet items and wish I could make similar things. I can knit no problem and want to get back to crochet too. Kazzy73
I taught myself to crochet right handed(as im left handed) by just watching all different videos on you tube so much easier to learn than looking in a book.
Chookster
I taught myself 3 months ago. I am still very much a beginner and working my way through a granny square blanket. I used Catherine Hirst tutorials on her web site and on You tube. She takes it very slowly and is easy to follow.
jimnpaula
If you've crocheted before you probably don't need Crochet Unravelled, but it is a good book. If you learn from YouTube bear in mind that US and UK terminology sound the same but can mean different things, eg single crochet is double crochet, doubles are trebles, triples/trebles are double-trebles and so on. kazmac
Thanks for the replies, folks. I'm planning to look online too. P - I probably do need 'Crochet unravelled'! I did look at it and thought it looked good so I might just get it. Especially as I want to do some during lunch at work and unfortunately the NHS blocks access to most websites / online stuff, particularly things like YouTube, so I'd have the book to read at lunch instead!
