clucker1
Well, I let the girls out for a free range this afternoon.....came back a bit later to check on them to find they are all in the dry part of the run and not even free ranging. They have loads of dry trees to dig/forage under, but today it was deemed a no go in view of the weather! I felt sorry for them, so gave them some corn as a treat. jackian
I left my girls WIR doors open and gave them the chance to go out if needed but they decided most of the day to give it a miss.My back garden looks like Glastenbury on a wet bank holiday and their little feet were quite difficult to lift at times. and very mucky beaks They will usually go out in most weathers and I have to say enough is enough you silly girls and lure them in ...Not lately they are growing up . Chortle Chook
Mine have been hiding under their house most of the day. I actually went and bought one of those Flyte so Fancy shelters and persuaded OH to put it together over the weekend . . . in the rain I'm really chuffed with it but are my chickens? Hell no. They'd rather go under their house in the dark than risk this new fangled object. They just peer out, then all shovel around and hoof one another out to get a drenching. They are now all soaked so I'll be going out with the kitchen towel to dry them off

clucker1
Well, good news today as the girls came out to play today. Yippee, so they had extra time today to celebrate less wet weather.
Alis girls
Luverly - looks like a mini bus shelter. I am envious
Chortle Chook
Yes a bus shelter is exactly what I think it looks like. Yesterday they were using and looking out as if they were all waiting for the no. 88 I'm not sure if Mods will think this is advertising (in which case please remove this bit, Mods) but in the 'free to a good home' section I do have a free sandpit thingy that could be used as a small shelter should anyone in the Oxon / Berks area want it.
