Grayson Perry - all in the best possible taste

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else been watching this show?

I never really had much of an opinion of Grayson Perry before, apart from a sort of aghast wonder at how he dresses sometimes & his sheer brass neck.

But he has come across on this show as the most lovely man,a real observer of life & an amazingly genial host.

He never ever judges,& is polite to even the most jaw dropping people & their idea of taste.

I have found him fascinating to watch, have really enjoyed the series so far & also think his tapestries depicting the class divides & taste within,as pure genius.

I would love to see him go on to do more presenting, either as 'himself' or as his Bo-peep frock wearing alter ego 8):P

I've enjoyed the series so far and yes he comes across very well but I'm obviously not cultured enough because although I like the tapestries I don't think he's a great artist. The series has really made me think about how other people see themselves and how people see me. A very thought provoking series. Can't wait for the next one.

I've only watched the 1st one so far, but thoroughly enjoyed it. I really love his work and find it fascinating-I first got introduced to his artwork whilst taking AS art a couple of years ago and have always found him really interesting when he has made TV appearances, particularly on 'Question Time' and 'Have I Got News for You'.

I've never had much time for him previously. I took an instant dislike to him when I found out his toddler dress wearing alter ego was called "Claire".

However, I've really enjoyed this series. I find him interesting and engaging, and not at all judgemental. He has certainly made me think about what I perceive to be good and bad taste

I'm watching this on 4oD as I missed it on the TV. I think he's a fantastic presenter and also did a great programme on an exhibition he put on in London last year.

I think artistic types make very interesting presenters as they have a different view of the world to most of us which I really like; a few years ago, Jarvis Cocker did something on outdoor art by ordinary people which was also exceptional (IMHO)
