I am soooooooo excited!

 

Delia's Gooseberry and Elderflower Preserve - dead easy and tastes delicious! Picked the gooseberries from our garden this morning - this is the Good Lfe!

 

Now all I need is a Village Fair in Kent that has a jam-making competition for me to enter........

I like jam making too, normally victoria plum but I'm tempted to try strawberry this year but think it's harder to get it to set. Gooseberry and elderflower sounds good too though.

I'm hoping to make some rhubarb jam soon - loads of it in the garden.

 

Just need to finish the re vamp of the chicken area and dig out a new pond then I will have some spare time

I'm hoping to get around to making some plum jam this year, that and wine, rosehip syrup..the list goes on and I fear I will not do any of it!

I've never made jam, but my mum does a great line in damson jam- just watch for the stones

She also makes good lemon curd.

I made lemon curd last week . Lovely to make and even lovelier to eat . We've just been to a PYO farm and come home with 11lbs strawberries which will end up as jam, ice cream and sorbets. There's also a couple of pounds of gooseberries in the kitchen from our own bushes waiting to be turned into gooseberry and mint jelly.
