AJuff
Can anyone recommend a pollen identification nerdy book for me? I have spent lots of time bee watching with a cup of ea. It is so theraputic! Lots of orange, greeny yellow, bright green and cream pollen coming in. What have my little ladies been working on? I walked under the lime trees near my house and heard the buzz . . . looked up to find thousands of bees . . what colour is lime pollen? Old Speckled Hen
This is the one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Colour-Guide-Pollen-Loads-Honey/dp/0860982483/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343433770&sr=8-1 Limes are nectar sources more than pollen I think but then only when hot and humid
Lesley
Oooh! I love lime tree honey - it's sold as a single variety honey in France. I wish we had lime trees. I use the Thornes leaflet for identifying pollen - it's not very comprehensive but covers most plants we have around us here.
