johnandkymberley
Hi all, I have just went outside to let the girls out and found phlox had passed away this morning She had been sneezing and a bit rattley for a couple of days but I put respite, citrcidal (sp?),acv and garlic in the water. I feel so gulity though, could I have done more? Was i quick enough? Does this happen to a lot of hens? She was an angel of a hen, well behaved, gentle and never any trouble! I will miss her shy ways... RIP Phloxy Lhloxy
Luvachicken
Aww, poor Phlox. It's sad when they die suddenly. Sending hugs xx
Salop Chuck
So sorry for your loss. I am afraid hens are very good at hiding illness and it is especially difficult to spot changes in health in the quiet ones who gently steel your heart and then unexpectedly pass away. They are always greatly missed . Try not to be too hard on yourself.

gongladosh
Poor girl, RIP Phlox. Sometimes hens just go quickly, not nice but it's better than going slowly,

johnandkymberley
Thankyou all, her leg ring has been added to the run - (we attach them to side of the run when one passes away) Seems so final when we did that Least I gave her a good life and she was very loved and well looked after, It makes me feel happy that I had her and made her life good:) my angel hen Phlox Another sad point is I love the name Phlox, and like with all the hens she had a nickname "Phloxy Lhloxy" i will really miss saying that to her whilst stroking her back
