Being sensible............

Recommended Posts

............is not always the best policy  I have my new second hand eglu in situ, all ready for a couple (or three :!: ) new chickens. I took myself off to the garden centre where I got my two original girls, and there they had a particularly handsome bovans nera plus a not quite so pretty (but would like nice with the lovely one bovans nera) and a sweet looking white star.

Well, )H always has to give me the benefit of his advice - why do I listen :?::evil: (bad move); "shop around a bit and go and look at some other chickens". So, off I went to another chicken place that someone had recommended - they had lots and lots of POLs in a big barn; it was a bit dark and rather busy - chickens being caught in nets all over the place and being shoved into boxes. Couldn't really choose individually, so all in all I wasn't too keen so left empty-handed.

This was on Saturday. I decided overnight that I definitely wanted the three that I had seen at the garden centre, so I would go back there first thing on Sunday. Well, you've guessed it, the really lovely bovans was gone! They still had the not quite so pretty one there, as well as the white star, but I was so set on the lovely one that I left empty-handed and somewhat deflated.

I shall never been sensible again :!::!: OH just doesn't appreciate that when choosing chickens, a woman should not be distracted, persuaded otherwise or given any sensible advice :!:
