Cinnamon
We have a business mobile phone & its used a LOT, our contract is with Vodafone but my Husband has been dealing with an outfit called 'Business phones for you' In November they called him up & offered to replace his phone with a new one (part of their deal),plus give us another new phone for an additional £45 a month,on a good contract. He said he would talk to me & get back to them (good man!),which he duly did. I thought it was expensive,so we decided not to go ahead. My Husband called them back & said as much,& we didn't think any more about it. Now,we don't get itemised bills & as I do the accounts, they are only done once a quarter or so,so we didn't notice the huge leap in the phone bill, but under investigation it seems that this shower have been charging us for an additional phone & number each month,to the tune of £50. We never received the phone,so were not alerted to the fact that the contract had been started, nor have we had any paperwork through. They are being MOST uncooperative......they are basically saying that we are lying about not wanting the contract or even knowing about it. Obviously there have never been any charges as we have never had a phone to use! So not only are they refusing to refund unless we can prove that we called them & said we didn't want the contract, but they say they will keep charging us until November NEXT YEAR!!!!! We need to complain about them formally, any idea who we can speak to? Vodafone have been really helpful & have sent us all out itemised bills, but they cannot end the payment either. Cinnamon
Marvellous, I am on to them now. Just to clarify,it was 'Business Phones Direct', not Business phones for you,as in my first post.
Willow
Ask them to prove you asked for the contract ie. pull the phone records where they said it was agreed, or alternatively tell them to pull the phone records for the time period your OH called them to say he wasn't interested. I suggest you copy all correspondence to Vodafone as well and tell Business Phones Direct that you are doing so. As partners of Vodafone and the contract is with Vodafone they have an interest. Do they claim to have sent the phone ? if so ask to see proof of delivery.
The Dogmother
Sorry to hear that Sarah, hope you get it sorted out. I had a similar experience with Vodafone when they were charging me fro insurance which I'd explicitly told them I didn't want
Cinnamon
They only record outgoing calls,so they have a record of the call they made to us & of my husband saying that he may be interested, but none (conveniently) of the one he made back to them saying that we had decided not to go ahead. I will ask about proof of delivery of the phone though & I will also get back on to Vodafone about it (Or Brian will,as they won't speak to me) Have worked out that they owe us £500 for a phone we have never had & never used
