kinsk
Anyone doing this, or done it? I am trying to do the throw. Really enjoyed learning how to do the first square but am struggling with the second one if I'm struggling already is there much hope for me! kinsk
I bought about 30 weeks worth Then I took them (free yarn et al) to a charity shop that sounds exactly the type of thing that I do! Am determined to get the second square done this weekend, not sure how though
Egluntyne
I did similar last time round. Not worth the money IMHO.
chickencam
OH bought YD the whole first Art of Knitting series and it is still unused, the wool was very poor quality, I like the idea of making all of the different squares, but can't quite bring myself to use the cheap wool. kinsk
but can't quite bring myself to use the cheap wool. I agree, I was thinking of using the cheap wool to practice, but then alongside doing the same patterns in some decent wool in nice colours. Might have a look around and see if there are some classes.
LisaP
My DD taught herself to crochet through YouTube and I've used it when stuck with knitting Lisa P
Goosey Lucy
My MIL took it and I think she's nearly finished the blanket. Despite pointing out the cost of 60ish magazines compared to some yarn of her choice and a selection of books she still went ahead and subscribed. She really enjoyed doing it. She couldn't crochet before the series and is very proud of her squares. Lucy x

Jennifer Jane
OH bought YD the whole first Art of Knitting series and it is still unused, the wool was very poor quality, I like the idea of making all of the different squares, but can't quite bring myself to use the cheap wool. I got the Art of Knitting too. I don't know why as I could already knit . I never finished the throw but I did make a lot of squares. When I thought I had got to the end they brought out another set of colours for a second throw - I finally cancelled my subscription then. Although the colours looked better I imagine the yarn would have been of the same quality. I use it now for practice, I don't know what I'm going to do with the squares I've already made - probably sew them up and make a cat blanket. chickencam
We cancelled our subscription at that point too, we felt that they had moved the goal posts and we had been led along for long enough.
Mrs Webmuppet
I bought the first magazine it's still in the cupboard somewhere, it didn't make a lot of sense to me - I'm left handed! . A friend if mine taught me the basics in the end .......a simple pattern. I've done two squares since she gave me a crash course yesterday. kinsk
Well after all the false starts with square 2 I finally cracked it last night, infact I refused to go to bed until I had, then this mornings knocked out square 3. The wool is unbearable though but as all 3 squares have turned out different sizes using it as practice and replicating with decent stuff is definitely the way to go.
