Bramble
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of using these, please (good or bad). I'm toying with the idea of getting one for Willow, more as a preventative (I know from an x-ray she had a while ago that she does have some arthritis/rheumatism, sorry, can't remember which developing) as she gets older. She occasionally gets some neck pain and I wondered if a magnetic collar might help?
kinsk
We use magnetic boots on the horses and they really do make a difference. Not had any experience of the dog collars but a friend got a magnetic dog bed for her mastiff and it certainly seemed to have a positive effect. Bramble
Thank you Kinsk, I'd noticed magnetic beds are also available so had wondered about those, the choice is a bit baffling though!!!!
Nicola O
Hi. Both my doggies have a magnetic collar and they are brilliant. Millie is 17 yrs old and Freda is 15 yrs old. I got Millie's earlier this year as she was showing signs of really stiffening up on her back legs and it has made such a difference to her, she runs around like a 2 yr old (well, she did until her mini-stoke on Friday but she is recovering really well from that now). I then got Freda one 2 or 3 months ago as she was also starting to look 'uncomfortable' and again - brilliant results !! They also have a Glucosamine tablet and a cod liver oil tablet everyday as well. Mine are from 'www.magnets4health.co.uk' Nicola
The Dogmother
I know of lurcher folks who have used them and reported a positive difference, but I've heard more positive feedback about a supplement called Yumove.
Lavenders_Blue
A dog walker I often bump into uses Yumove for her older dog and thinks it's great.
Chucky Mama
People do report that magnetic collars or beds work well. Giving any glucosamine/chondroitin based product - there are masses of them(Yumove being one of them) works well. If you can get one that also contains Devils Claw, you may find that you get better results.
The Dogmother
I was given a month's worth of Yumove as a sample and tried it on Cyrus who is getting on a bit and can be a bit stiff; whilst he wasn't on it for long, I think his early morning stiffness (like me!) was a bit better. lillybettybabs
I don't rate them as i have tried bracelets and back braces with them in with no affect. You could try: Pet sweater in cold weather Regular small walks rather than irregular long walks Swimming Slow jogging/trot Appropriate rest - if they are struggling that day don`t force them to go out; rest is as just as important as exercise Appropriate Bed - Get rid of that curved plastic bed immediately and get them some flat, soft bedding with lumbar support Support devices e.g.: car ramp and limit stair use High impact exercise should be avoided e.g.: fly ball, agility, Frisbee, ball catching Orthopaedic bed/warm sleeping area with no draughts Glucosamine supplement - building block for cartilage synthesis, try GO4 or yumove Chodroitin enhances Glucosamine synthesis and inhibits damaging enzymes Buffered Vitamin C Omega 3 Oil Add oily fish eg: tinned or fresh, ie: Mackeral, Tuna, Salmon, Pilchards/Sardines but NOT in oil and especially not sunflower oil
loumabel
I have a magnetic coat for one of my dogs and I think it helps him. He hates wearing coats normally and tries to pull them off but when I put him in his magnetic coat he loves it and always goes to sleep. I am also another fan of Yumove tablets, I have tried loads of different supplements over the years and I found yumove and cortaflex to be the best ones. Yumove is cheaper than Cortaflex which is the main reason I changed but I find it just as good!!!

Yumove is cheaper than Cortaflex which is the main reason I changed but I find it just as good!!! There are 2 different strengths of Cotaflex liquid which many people don't realise. The Veterinary Strength has a blue and white label and is much more concentrated, better value and more effective
