DH just gone in our garage to find posh cat inca , who by the way is a small beautiful silver tabby, munching her way down a large rat. She has devoured the outer head and is currently cracking her way through the skull.

He did try to wrestle it from her and gave up. Why do we buy expensive food?

 

Am also horrified as she never wanders far from home, I think she may be banned from the house for a while and DH says he'll never look at her in the same way again. she always seems so gentile.

well done that cat! Just as an aside - check she didn't get bitten in catching it, as rat bites can go septic.

Gosh aren't animals revolting sometimes On the plus side, that's one less rat running round your neighbourhood!

Hubby been back in garage to find nothing other than the entrails. Yuk yuk

 

We should be over come with them as we live on a river and the fields around us have just been harvested, yet we've not seen many rats so can only assume our 4 cats are keeping them at bay. I did think posh cat would be just watching though.

My two - Biscuit; a big, cuddly, benign cream tabby and Georgie who is scared of her own shadow are both inveterate hunters, although they don't bring their spoils in these days... or perhaps they do and the dogs just tidy them up

I wish Foggy would have more of a killer instinct, He catches mice but brings them home live and sets them

free in our garden!

I'm beginning to wonder if he is feeding the hens as they love a mouse or two!

Bella is my smallest cat, really diddy, but she is the mightest of hunters. Though when she drags rabbits or whatever home, she gives them to the other cats as she is lowest in the cat hierarchy

My two are avid hunters and eat what they catch, although I have switched them onto a raw homemade diet and have found that I am getting less entrails than I did when they were on tins.... It's like they are saying "Finally our human slave gets what we want to eat"
