CatieB
There should be somewhere you can name and shame packaging, I would expect good things from JL until this. I ordered a tefal fresh express gadget and a bracelet. The fresh express machine came in a postage type plastic bag, although it was rather large it was ok. However the bracelet came in a separate BOX all on its own, full of air bubble packet things and the lonesome bracelet. BTW it was a dress bracelet costing six pounds made out of textile weighing 8 grams, the box in inches was 6 x 6 x 8 they were ordered together and came together. Anyone know if there is a reason for this terrible wastage?
bluekarin
No idea but when I ordered an iPad case delivered to store, when I went to collect it, it was in a huge box, full of protective wrapping! As I was going to town after collecting, I got them to remove the packaging so I didn't need to carry it all. Thought it was bonkers! Lavenders_Blue
I have also ordered a number of items from JL which have arrived in copious amounts of packaging, and multiple parcels
Willow
It isn't consistent, amazon sometimes does excessive packaging then they sent me a lego set in similar packaging to a book which got crushed (going back ).
snowberry
There is a law pertaining to excess packaging. I can't remember who you report it to. Trading Standards?

Lewis
We ordered a little aerial for our router last year, must have only been 10cm and it came in a huge box. I made a castle from it for Sherlock!
Chucky Mama
I've had this before with John Lewis . My ES used to order small packs of Jelly Beans of them when they did free postage on everything.. They used to arrive in a stupidly large box with lots of padding every time. They will have made a loss on very purchase he made as the postage and packaging will have cost more than the Jelly beans by some way. Amazon can be a bit over the top too with non book/CD items. WitchHazel
I onve ordered a dinner service from Debenhams. Every single item came in its own box, with bubble wrap and corrugated brown paper, and each box came in its own bag. The deliveries arrived over several days.
