Do you dream about chickens?

Recommended Posts

Last night I dreamt that I was ordering my chickens. I have not got any chickens yet, you see, I have been wanting some for five or six years but we can't at the moment because we are in rented. Also I am working more or less full time currently.

In my dream I was on the phone to a supplier, don't know who but obviously they were well supplied because I asked for:

Two sussex, one white and one buff.

Two maran, one cuckoo and one wheaten.

Two araucanas, of different colours.

I had everything ready for them, in my dream, a cube all ready and everything they would need (although in real life I am not sure what they would exactly, being a newbie).

That sounds like a lovely little flock, though. What do you think? :)

Thanks, girls. I am sure it will one day too, even if it is not precisely the same. In my dream I went and collected the chickens in a large cardboard box that was like a mini chicken coop inside, with a roosting bar and a nesting box attached, and then when I got home my husband announced he was off to see a clairvoyant. Then I woke up ....

I sometimes dream about my hens, though I rarely remember detail.

One I do remember however was about 2 years ago was when my top (original Omlet) hen, Kiki was ill. She was holding her own at the time but I remember in the dream seeing her and hearing someone say "she's dying, you know". That morning when I let them out, poor Kiki was unable to move with Peritonitis. We had to have her PTS that day to save further suffering.

Since then I've not looked forward to hen dreams very much!! :(
