Jules.
Nope, it was flying ant day here on Tuesday. I was lead to believe that the ants all came out on the same day - wonder if that is just localised?

Gentle1973
We also had the flying ant day today, I was sat in work and looked out and they were everywhere. I have to admit my first thought was my cats would be having a field day, followed very shortly by bet the chickens will love it as well. I wish I had been at home to see them, as they are so funny when they chase flies or something!

snowcloud
I live down the road from Wendy, and we had the same thing - they were everywhere. How long does it last? Just one day?
Sarah 2
We did too. I thought the chooks were fighting with each other. But they were actually chasing flying ants. It's not as funny, as watching them running around the garden with a grape stuck in their beak.
Suzanne
Yes we had the same. Clara became very agitated and we did not know why. Suddenly she broke through the netting and made a rush at the house wall and then we saw why .........Flying ants ! Juliet ran up and down by the netting but was not so good at getting through so we had do let her out to join in. They had a great time. We wondered what the eggs would taste like. They had so many ants, would it have any effect on them?
peanut12
We're feeling really left out!!! Nothing flying around here except for birds - how dull? Our girls are having to make do with the regular variety of ant (ready salted snacks as opposed to Walkers Flying Sensations)
