all of mine are in full sun as my garden is South facing

My garden is south facing too and I have WIR to right,it gets morning sun to about 2ish then is shady which will be good in summer as if it's very hot they won't have direct sun in afternoon,this will be their first summer of freedom,so it'll be nice seeing them enjoy the sun.

my yard is north facing, according to DH. There is a good amount of sun first thing in the morning to mid afternoon. Then its shady.

 

I've got to try and work out the wind direction now.

Mine is north facing and tbh they don't get much sun in the winter unless we let them out to FR, but there hasn't been much! In summer they get first thing sun then evening but the buildings shelter the rest - seems like its the rest of the garden but them. Best place for them for us though as desperate area and they get a but of FR each day in summer so seem happy.

Mine are under trees so they don't get very much sun in the summer unless they are free ranging, however they get the winter sun when it shows an appearance

My run long side has trees above and to the west of it. This works perfectly - they get morning sun to bask in and then are shaded from the hotter midday sun, (ok, I should probably say wind and driving rain most of the time!). I think this suits the chickens well, having originally been jungle dwellers.

My garden is east facing so I put them against a north facing fence so they always have shade. Chickens seem to be better at dealing with cold than hot.

My ladies are in full sun, and in the summer it's VERY hot. I just make sure they have enough shade with a giant parasol and covers
