Charlottechicken
Does anyone know what has happened to this shampoo? I actually used to buy it from the pound shops, but it is out of stock even on Amazon and other online sites, and not for sale in Boots or other chemists I have been to. I know it had henna in it and wondered if this was the reason. It really brought out the auburn in my hair, which I really liked
coppers
I used to love it too and bought it all the time. I have no idea why it was discontinued. Presume it has been. I agree, it lifts the red tones in hair a treat. x
patsylabrador
I used to like this too. A good alternative is the henna blocks from Lush. Caca Brun is the one I use. Always scarily green for a couple of hours on my particular hair but settles into a nice golden auburn colour. Have to redo every 6 weeks because of grey and it conditions my hair like nothing else. I like to mix caca Brun and caca marron, that gives a very nice colour - I do 3/4 Brun and 1/4 marron.
Cinnamon
The red shampooss from 'Everything for Redheads' are amazing too....they just give your hair a nice lift
soapdragon
That brings back memories - I used to use this ages ago (when I had more chestnut hair than grey !) Not sure if these colour enhancers work on grey - I am grey (OK, OK, white!) at the front on top and am resigned to looking as though I have a dead badger on my head I think I used to get Henara from Superdrug Have just checked E-bay and they have the blonde one and one for brunette/dark hair but I can't see one specifically for red hair. Charlottechicken
I've been into a small branch of Boots near work today and can't find a single shampoo for red hair, or anything resembling henna I do wonder if there has been some sort of health scare
Cinnamon
They just don't sell cos there aren't that many redheads The one I use is brilliant......Superdrug also do a tinted shampoo I sometimes use , which gives a nice tone. A Fudge one turned me violent orange though!
Charlottechicken
Well, there's one less now because my hair is now mouse again Might try Superdrug. I'll see if I can find contact details for Henara, I'd really like to know what is going on
Charlottechicken
Found an old bottle and it has contact details on the back, I've emailed the manufacturer, Keyline Brands. The Henara website is also down.
msmarch85
Just found this thread - did any of you ladies manage to contact Henara at all?? Would you mind pasting their response? Upset that the product has been discontinued but equally concerned about a possible health scare being the reason, if at all!
Charlottechicken
I never received a reply to my email
yvonne
I use an Aveda shampoo for red hair (Madder Root)- it's pricey, but a bottle lasts well over a year - have used it for years with both chemically red hair and now henna'd red hair. I think you can sometimes still find the John Frieda red hair range in larger boots or Superdrug, but the red trend has passed so it's definitely harder to find than it used to be. Cinnamon
Do try the Superdrug wash in conditioning ones - there are a range of colours (I use a golden red), they last well & just enhance your natural shade enough. They are very cheap too
msmarch85
Thanks for all the replies, will defo try the other brands I know you've already emailed keyline without success lol, but ive just been given their email by schwartzkopt so i'll try nonetheless. If I get a response, will paste on here x
Jennifer Jane
This thread caught my eye as I had the following conversation with DH this morning while watching the local newsreader on TV (a striking redhead): DH - do you think she colours her hair? Me - No, but she may enhance it DH - Only women don't like to dye their hair red, do they, they prefer to go blonde Me (a natural redhead - or at least I was ) - What do you mean??? Lots of women want to be redheads!!! Considering he was first attracted to me by my hair colour Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, I remember Henara too. There used to be something similar in Tesco, not sure if they still stock it.
