typical grrrrrrrrrrrr

I need a rant so apologies in advance !

We have a family boat for the last two years my parents have promised us to go across the chanel to France , the first time we were with an elderly relative who made it clear he didn't want to do it, last year my mum chickened out deciding the crossing would be too much for the kids but after sailing from Falmouth to Brixham in one go she realised that actually they would have been fine .

Anyway last year my sister wanted to come not for the sailing but just to be with the family we told her it would be too many people and unsafe but if she wanted to go we would go the following year, she said for us to go as she would only do it if all us could.

So this year dad has bough new electronic charts and very keen to do the chanel crossing and guess what my sister has now suddenly decided that's what she wants to do with her fiancé (who doesn't really do boats) despite the fact she owes me money for a holiday that we went on 18 months ago and she is meant to be saving for the wedding. I suspect as usual she will go and will contribute very little towards it as she is never made to anyway .

I am ashamed to say I am jealous both me and my hubby are really keen on sailing so it means more to us than a jolly and to be fair she only enjoys it if she can sit on deck in the sun she usually does naff all but get in the way. My mum keeps saying we need to be on the mooring list so we can take over the boat when we get the mooring (these are usually years long) but at present we have had very little time to learn the ropes how the heck can we take over a 29ft boat if we aren't confident. The sad thing is that I have NO right to feel this way technically its her turn but its soooo annoying.

You must all think Im a horrible person but I needed to air this and of course cant and wont say anything to the family (mind you I can imagine Dad will be over the moon as he will know it wont be holiday for him as he will be doing most of the work)

Thanks :D

I needed too the big problem is even if I made any reasonable comment my sister is one who goes into major sulks for stupid amounts of time ! Whereas if its said to me I may get angry but its over and done with and if im in the wrong I accept it

Time to bake a cake I think :D

lol Yes Cake was defo the right step me and the Harv (my 3 nearly 4yr old son) made Betty Crocker Devil food cup cakes. I can make from scratch but on this occasion with Harvey its sometime easier to have a mix handy, my older two are now at the stage where I can let the FR in the kitchen to make cakes ..

I spoke briefly with mum she was shocked that my sister was thinking she wanted to do this and said if her fiancé did do it then a 15hr chanel crossing wouldn't be the best introduction but she thinks if the weather is right they could go down the south coast with them meet us at Brixham or somewhere and do a swap to go across which I would think a plan that should suit everyone, mum did wonder whether it was said to 'ruffle' my feathers which is possibly the case and it worked very well. However if my sister is going to start wanting to do more with the boat then its time she mucked in with all sides it was me and my Dad sanding and varnishing on Easter Saturday and then the following Saturday both me Dad, prepped polished and antifouled the boat .. Still I think I have said enough and I shall leave it the hands of mum

I was soooooooooooo glad to be able to offload on here Face Book is far toooooo risky for that

Oh and Alis Girl sometimes I think my sister needs more then shoving overboard one day I think she will get a real shock at how the real world lives

You know theres an article in the Mail re sisters. I'm an only child and wouldve loved a sibling - but they can bring real misery to each other. My OH has 2 brothers - one lives in ME world and is so up his own bottom no one else matters the other is a depressive who wont get help. Hope you get it sorted - sounds like mums onto your sister.

I know what you mean 90% of the time we get on fine its just the odd time like this that she like to take the mickey, if only I had been an Omleter when our Lapland holiday saga was going on you guys may have saved me a lot of heartache ...

I am thankful to have her esp as my mum is an only child and seeing the problems she gets with my nan its nice to know when mum goes the same way (which she will as im sure we have some genetical form of insanity ) I will have my sister to help and the she will have to pull her head out of her ....... well you know

On a lighter note she is currently amusing me her fiancé and a group of mutual friends after a comment she left on my FB status I was moaning about the car recalls , to which she commented that her Renault Almera was also mentioned but she didn't have a passenger air bag so should she be worried  funnily enough she has now deleted that comment daft apeth that she is

Is it in today's Mail Ali?...

I could cheerfully strangle my sister at times...sounds like she's from a similar vein to yours Charly! Is yours younger, mine is by 2 yrs...never forgiven mum for a sister not a brother

Little update

Mum suggested they do the south coast sister has said that wont be a real holiday and wait for it she expects to be taken to France ! We have never demanded this on our holidays with my parents not like they can make the wind and weather do what it's told !!!

Clearly she's lives in cuckoo land !! Mums said she quite rightly is staying out of it ! As for me I'm just accepting we won't be sailing this year :-(
