Chicken boarders

Introducing 5 new girls - Milly, Molly, Mandy, Kim and Flynn who came complete with a lovely pink cube.

 

Getting the cube through to my garden was 'challenging' (and of course it poured with rain throughout) - but I'm quite proud that I managed it all by myself

 

In the picture, the new girls climb onto their glug to tell residents Parsley and Pepper that there is a new boss in town!

There are two more sections of run to add - but I decided the hens had been locked in cat baskets/the eglu for long enough - and building the 'extension' could wait for a dryer day!

We have just bought a secondhand cube and love it. We had a bluebell and she was a lovely calm bird with fantastic eggs. Our light sussex was terribly broody. Is the other a Maran we have just had our first egg from our new maran after 11 days.

The bluebell (Parsley) and copper black (Pepper) are two of my four 'established residents'

 

The new girls are the light sussex who's telling the others who's boss, a goldtop, a speckledy and a couple of warrens.

 

My last bluebell was very timid, but Parsley is far more bold - and noisier!
