marmite+toast
After losing a chook a week ago, we bought two new ones to join our remaining flick of two. Brownie has enjoyed four days of mercilessly bullying and chasing the new girls but this evening I noticed she has become very quiet, finding places to roost instead of pottering in the garden, and hiding under a bush at bed time. I managed to get hold of her and found her crop pretty much empty (perhaps a little fluid, but not enlarged or smelly breathed) she took two days off laying when the new girls arrived, but has since given us her daily egg ( though much smaller than usual) So, looking for some advice as to what to do, is it possible that it is just the stress of the new girls arriving? Should I tempt her with treats tomorrow, or just stick to pellets? Having lost my old girl only a week ago I'm feeling really stressed at the prospect of another poorly girl. mimi5
Yes, I would try and tempt her to encourage any appetite, also Nutri-drops are great for perking up and boosting a poorly one. As is a good tonic (like life guard) in their water, that will be good for all your girls new and old a like Best wishes.
