The Dogmother
I've always had blinds in the back (boot) side windows of the Berlingo, but they often come unstuck. A while ago I bought and applied some tinted film, but however carefully it's applied it looks pants. I am looking into getting the windows tinted or some other solution that won't look like Blue Peter sticky-backed plastic I just want to keep it cool for the hounds, the windows concerned are side opening. Any ideas?
sjp
how did you apply it wet or dry? wet been the best option. it's a fiddle job to do but it's not a hard one if you have the right stuff. any half dissent vehicle graffix/sign writing company should stock window film.I know of a company in Birmingham it's were the last place I worked at used when we needed glass filmed
The Dogmother
I'd be interested in their details sjp, if you could PM them to me... thanks. It was a static film, so can be peeled off and re-used. Luckily it wasn't expensive as I followed instructions and it still looks pants. chuckmum6
There are lots of place that tint windows and they are spot on, so good you can't tell the windows weren't tinted in the first place. I had my Freelander 2 done at Easter, to keep the dogs cooler, even though it is a high spec car it didn't have tinted glass. It cost me £100 and it looks great, just as if I'd had tinted glass when I bought it! The glass is guaranteed for as long as I own the car. Lesley
We had ours done in Stratford Clare - almost same vehicle as yours. They were recommended to us by the Postie, and they know everything! We paid £50 per window - the two rear sides and the back - and they've been brilliant, no problems at all.

The Dogmother
Thanks L, have completed their quote form to see what they have to offer. I did a google search and one of the companies I called had a phone number for my town, but when I called it they said that they'd closed that office and the nearest one was now Cheltenham and they didn't cover my area; I said 'take it off yer website then'

The Dogmother
Thanks, but this was the cheapest by far around here, without racking up more money on petrol.

The Dogmother
Well, I got my windows done at Smashgard.co.uk in Daventry, he did me a good deal to get the 5 back windows done and I am very pleased with it; it is shadier in the back for the dogs, and he offered a brilliant service and was a happy chappy too - can't recommend them enough. Incidentally he also does tinted or reflective windows for conservatories, offices etc.
Goosey Lucy
So what did you decide in the end? Mini skirt? Bikini and chainsaw? Or make up and clean jeans? Whatever it was, it obviously worked Lucy x
The Dogmother
Mini skirt with legs like mine? They're too muscly I just went as I'd tumbled out of bed... well, I dressed first but didn't glam up as I was spending the rest of the day racing around.
