Help - my Pekins won't go broody

Recommended Posts

Seriously, I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe where Pekins bumble about all spring and summer merrily laying eggs and not spending all day heating up their bum fluff in a nest box.

The eggs are lovely, of course, but I'd really like to hatch a few.

I had one ancient girl, Cinnamon, go broody in early spring, but no-one has since. Normally by this time of year they've all been broody at least once.

The cockerel has been doing his bit, which should surely help get them in the mood to brood; I've been giving them afternoon corn on all but the warmest days and I've even put some bouncy eggs in the nest box so that there is always something available to sit on.

What more can I do?!
