Luvachicken
Because Lucie has been on antibiotics, it means we can't eat the eggs. Normally, if I'm around I might spot who layed the egg, but today I was out and 3 eggs were layed. Yesterday and the day before the babies didn't lay any eggs so I was quite pleased I wouldn't have to waste them. Only 3 weeks to go til we can eat them - but at least we can still have Myrtle and Melody's eggs cos they are separate
Purplemaniacs
Oh that is annoying. At least you do have some eggs that you can eat. Chrissie
Mrs_B
I sympathise - my girls were on antibiotics for a few weeks last year and I really disliked throwing their eggs away, it seemed like such a waste after they went to the effort to lay each one I hate it when I break one by accident so it wasn't nice purposefully throwing them out. But it makes eating the ones in the future a bit special and you'll look forward to them Good job you have some eggs though - I almost bought some from the supermarket at one point during those weeks x
Luvachicken
Good job you have some eggs though - I almost bought some from the supermarket at one point during those weeks Ooooh I hate buying eggs from the shops too. I call them traitor eggs.
good_egg
Hmmm... Just realised Connie has been on antibiotics for 9 days now and there was no mention of not eating her eggs!! Awkward! Guess its a bit late now! She lays blue eggs so would have been able to tell as well!
Luvachicken
It's so unfair isn't it Goodegg. The vet should have told you how long the egg withdrawal should be. Mine were on Baytril and the withdrawal period is 3 weeks after the last dose.
Space Chick
On the rare occasion when my girls have needed antibiotics I always ask for Tylan as there is no egg withdrawal on that.
