Jenthelibrarian
I just went up the garden, armed with a cuppa, but in bare feet and let the chooks out as I passed them. Noticed a small white half egg-shell on the grass, no doubt dropped by one of our local pigeons. Got 'trapped' in our greenhouse by sudden heavy rain, the hens went to lurk under the laurels. Drank my tea and wondered how long I could survive on tomatoes and raw courgette Rain stopped. Hens emerged onto grass, spotted egg-shell, had brief squabble and between them ate the lot. For cute fluffy birdies you really are quite disgusting
Olly
I remember the first time I saw mine chasing each other round the garden and realised that the leading hen had a dead mouse in her beak. They love sicked-up cat food, too ...

mimi5
Mine enjoy nothing better than pulling baby frogs apart Oh I so know what you mean although the little frog in question got away as it was between the cube run and plastic cover....but until I released the frog .....the girls were having a jolly good go at getting their beaks onto/in to him!!! Lavenders_Blue
Dead mouse and fledgling sparrows have been favourites here too
charly1979
Mine seem to favour frogs (but adult ones) nothing seems to make them happier then one girl running around with it in their beak whilst the others chase and im sure me and the kids yelling at them in distress adds to their enjoyment
gavclojak
Ah that is amazing, I don't get anything in my girls enclosure except the odd unlucky kamikaze slug! I think the words out around my area that they will eat anything that strays within the perimeter fence:))
