Do you like a scary film? Recommendation.

Recommended Posts

I saw The Conjuring yesterday and it was scary! I was actually hugging myself at one point. But I have to say I was thoroughly enjoying myself. It was the kind of scary I remember from being told a ghost story when I was little, or from when I lived in the countryside and my route home from school went through a graveyard. It didn't have to I just liked the creepiness. I didn't want the film to end and I want to see it again.

It's based on the experiences of two demonologists during the 70s which adds to the thrill.

I always go to the cinema on Sunday mornings when OH is at work as he likes more jolly films and so that I can avoid the crowds and there were only five of us viewing it altogether. Bliss.

Next on my list is Insidious 2.

I love scary films - I'm not keen on the gory horror (Saw etc.) but I love the psychological/ paranormal type films. I brought The Conjuring on DVD too (missed it at the cinema), I've watched it three times  I think the fact that it's based on real people makes it all the more scary

I haven't seen a good horror for a while

I think I've seen so many scary films I'm immune - they make me laugh now - not so hubby because he won't look at them (the wuss). The only one that really terrified me was Night of the Demon. Really old film but I remember walking home in the dark having got off the train late at night (work party at Christmas) and going along the footpath through the woods. I ran hell for leather through the trees and didn't look behind me! And when I was a lot younger I'd been watching a vampire film and went upstairs to close my curtains (my bedroom was a loft conversion) and my blooming cat was looking in the window and I yelled because her eyes were glowing down at me. Little demon! Oh Paddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! After that I used to go up with my eyes shut and grope for the curtains.
