keyhole kate
Skimming through a lot of junk email I noticed one from a Shoppers Discount & Rewards which said your current monthly payment is £10.00 a month which stopped me in my tracks. I checked my bank statement online and there it was they had been taking £10.00 a month since December 2012. Yes I am guilty of not checking bank statements how did this come about your thinking well whilst shopping online with Argos at Christmas they advertised I could claim a £15 cash back by sending a copy of my receipt by registering with the above company which I did however assuming it was one of there promotions however I never did get round to sending my receipt etc what I didn't know was that by registering with them this allowed SD&R to take a POS for ten pounds every month using my debit card I cant believe I was taken in I am usually very cautious I think because it was Argos I assumed it was legitimate I have contacted them and told them that these are fraudulent transactions and have advised my bank as such. I intend to contact Argos on Monday On doing a search on this company there are lots of complaints of people being mislead into registering with them and having payments taken which they eventually refund is is suggested that this is a scam which keeps them with cash flow and has been known about for some years companies such as John Lewis and debenhams have pulled out of there scheme and distanced themselves from what is a scam. Needless to say I will be checking my bank statements every month with a fine tooth comb. Be careful people its a jungle out there
Patricia W
That's horrendous and certainly seems to come under the mis-selling regulations! Are Argos going to do anything about it?
Charlottechicken
Just shows how even the sharp witted can be taken in, I hope you get your money back! I'm sure I've seen a similar thing on Amazon too.
kissinuk
Thanks for the warning, seen those 'Save £15' adverts on loads of sites after you complete a purchase (Amazon & Trainline definitely).
