Chickendoodle
It has always irritated me that I can't "give away" kindle books in the same way I would pass on paperbacks. This is not free but I am very pleased with it - it is my YD's birthday soon and I have just bought her a Kindle. She has no money so would not be able to buy many books for it. I am registering it to my account, therefore all of the books I have on my Kindle will automatically go onto hers. I have therefore effectively bought her a library of about 300 books I am going to spend some time - quite a lot of time probably - categorising the books for her as I know what she likes. This may have been obvious to everyone else and you are all thinking - of course you can do that - but there may be another numpty like me who it will help I believe you can have up to 6 devices under 1 account
Saronne
This is true. Also remember that there are lots and lots of free books you can download on kindle. This includes loads of classics, e.g. Dickens, Austen, etc. as well as new writers AND more established contemporary writers. You just need time to trawl through what's available. have fun - I love my kindle and have read much, much more since I've had it. Mrs Webmuppet
Little Miss Webmuppet and I share an Amazon account........she does moan about my choice of books when she inadvertently downloads one of mine you should have heard the moaning when her Kindle died and Amazon replaced it, the new one promptly downloaded all my books and hers! Ain't Nobody Here
I did know that but only because I was researching how to share books . It's fine if it's for family but not so handy if it's a friend (which is what I wanted to do). I have to admit to not having paid for a book yet . I have 38 on my Kindle so far which I've got free from Amazon. I get emails daily listing free books and there's always one I fancy.

Olly
Well you probably all knew this already, but I didn't - if you have a Kindle, and have the Kindle app on your iPad or phone, you can read the books on any of the devices and it will pick up at the point you stopped reading even if you have switched from one device to another. I read my Kindle on the train to work, so this is very useful if I've forgotten to put it in my bag.
