Not the programme - I think my elderly neighbour has employed some to do his wall. They keep putting stuff on our front garden. OH doesnt want to say anything but I am  . They did 2 hours graft, went to get sand and then left and didnt come back. Any idea who we can report them too if we have issues. Thanks

Very disappointed that was nothing to do with denim clad stetson guys raisin' barns. Yeeehaaaa! :(

They do not have the right to encroach on your property! I'd have a word with them if they ever return! But so saying that a neighbour (not immediate - and a doctor) has just had a new garden path put in. Taken up again and replaced once more and it still looks awful! I don't know whether she had it done on the cheap, but it certainly looks as though I could have done better!!!!!

Warning to all . . . Check a Trade!

Yep Trading standards,

I have had a new Patio built...not laid as my garden is on a slope, so built , footings, retained wall , tons of stuff to fill in and sand to lay slabs on, he did it while I was away camping and even my neighbours have said how hard he worked and did a real good job on it, so much so two of my neighbours have ordered the same from him and my Pal has ordered a new kitchen and patio.

It wasn't cheap but worth every penny to have it done right. He even raised it so the step out from the back door was shallower for me as I have arthritis and it has made life easier for me , which meant raising the drain heights and re-siting the air bricks and raising my gate. ( he spent ages checking the measurements and chalk spraying where he wanted things , even depth of footing to get the step height right )

I have been able to sit out in the sun through august, wish I'd had it done it sooner. I would recommend him to anyone.

Phone 101.

I subscribe to our local police community newsletter, so I get emails three times a week detailing all the crimes by local area.

The chap that runs this is constantly asking people to phone 101 if they have elderly neighbours who are having work done The police will then arrange for the PCSOs to happen to wander past the neighbour's house, and stop and check the builders.

Even if the dodgy builders have done a runner, you can give them as much info as you can remember - info on the builders, their van, etc. Photos of the vehicle showing the number plate are especially useful. This helps them identify patterns in the area so they can do something about it.
