Chickabee
After rearranging the girls this morning, I discovered I had room for one little one. I had already seen the perfect specimen. A grey pekin frizzle. I phoned the farm and they said she was reserved already . However, about 5 minutes later they phoned back, she was available again. I hot footed it to the farm and picked her up. I put her in with my white silkie and my new red partridge silkie. She settled right in. I've just checked that they've gone to bed ok. Frazzle (new girl) was tucked up in the nesting area with my older silkie it looked so sweet. That's 12 now and definitely no more ! libby22
That is so lovely - good for you. I would do just the same if I could! My girls are not accepting of others so a bit stuck there. Do you find the Pekins and Silkies all get along without the usual death threats and beatings handed out by the bigger girls?
Luvachicken
. That's 12 now and definitely no more ! Yeah.......I bet you get more in your Christmas stocking That means we will get to see some more pictures too I was pleased for you that you managed to get her after reading that she was already reserved. Chickabee
The little girls are on their own now. Just the 3 of them. They get along just fine. That's the 2 silkies and 1 pekin. My first silkie got along with everyone, but that's because I had her from 3 weeks and when she was allowed out she was in a run within the run. I think maybe my older silkie thinks the pekin is her chick. She's just ending a 3 week broody. A magic chick from no eggs !

Chickabee
I'm a bit confused, have been trying to find a picture of a grey frizzle on the internet. All info that I have found says that they are blue. Is that what she is? I don't mind of course, just like to get things right in my head

Chortle Chook
12 is a lovely number . . . especially as I only have 9 I think we need another picture of Dazzle hint hint (I liked the name Frazzle too though) and yes, grey is often referred to as 'blue'. You can get blue Silkies that are, in fact, grey to look at. Another pretty sort of grey is 'lavender'. Usually that is the term used for those really pretty pinky grey Pekins. Chickabee
Thank you shabby chic. I think blue sounds nicer than grey. I thought that Dazzle went well with Twinkle (my new partridge silkie). Will deffo get some more pictures. She is so sweet, the only one of my chickens that seems to quite like being picked up

I'm frightened to let her out of the run and she's always preening. The white silkie on the other hand is always getting dirty. She is allowed out and takes the first opportunity to make a nice dust bath. That's why I was confused about her colour, but she does look like the blue ones on the internet

Chortle Chook
What a lovely picture ! I think your wee frizzle pekin may be a frizzled lavender Daxigirl - seeing this I suddenly feel a real urge to have a partridge silkie How are yours doing? Any girls?
