Been a bit naughty - photo

Recommended Posts

After rearranging the girls this morning, I discovered I had room for one little one. I had already seen the perfect specimen. A grey pekin frizzle. I phoned the farm and they said she was reserved already :( . However, about 5 minutes later they phoned back, she was available again. I hot footed it to the farm and picked her up. I put her in with my white silkie and my new red partridge silkie. She settled right in. I've just checked that they've gone to bed ok. Frazzle (new girl) was tucked up in the nesting area with my older silkie :D it looked so sweet. That's 12 now and definitely no more !

The little girls are on their own now. Just the 3 of them. They get along just fine. That's the 2 silkies and 1 pekin. My first silkie got along with everyone, but that's because I had her from 3 weeks and when she was allowed out she was in a run within the run.

I think maybe my older silkie thinks the pekin is her chick. She's just ending a 3 week broody. A magic chick from no eggs !

12 is a lovely number . . . especially as I only have 9

I think we need another picture of Dazzle hint hint (I liked the name Frazzle too though) and yes, grey is often referred to as 'blue'. You can get blue Silkies that are, in fact, grey to look at. Another pretty sort of grey is 'lavender'. Usually that is the term used for those really pretty pinky grey Pekins.

Hi she looks to be a lavender frizzle pekin I breed these but she seems quite dark maybe the pic or excuse my rudeness is she slightly dirty not meaning you have dirty chickens I know how hard it is to keep them clean in this weather leanne :)

Hi, she's definitely not dirty. I'm frightened to let her out of the run and she's always preening. The white silkie on the other hand is always getting dirty. She is allowed out and takes the first opportunity to make a nice dust bath. That's why I was confused about her colour, but she does look like the blue ones on the internet :D
