Had our heating serviced this morning. He left, after capping off the gas supply and leaving us with no heating. Me, OH, a 2.5yr old and a 7 month old. Joy!!

 

Fortunately, they can get hold of the part needed and will be back Thursday am to fix it (and to give us a large unwelcome bill). Until then, we are on our own with a couple of electric heaters - thank goodness it is no too cold at the moment...

 

Although OH (off work today) thought would be useful to open all the windows upstairs - and let what heat we do have fly out... Men!

Ooh hope it all gets sorted out quickly and the bill isnt too big - although at this time of year any bill is too big.

What a shock for you Do hope all is sorted on Thursday. Good job its been fairly mild; freezing temps and snow would have been HORRIBLE. Good excuse for early nights all snuggling up together (my boys are too old to snuggle with successfully now )

I can't decide if I am cold, or just think I am cold as know we have no heating!

 

OH is now doing the ironing in hope it will warm up the room - so every cloud...

 

Will be about £800 - and with me on maternity leave it's not ideal - but hey, as it's leaking fumes we are counting our blessings that it was discovered and no-one got ill!

 

We always have it serviced every year - and jolly glad we did this year!

Oh no but as you say it is a good job it was discovered as the result could have been very nasty.

 

Someone at work had a very similar thing their's was leaking carbon monoxide, it could have been a really sad outcome thank goodness it was found.

 

Hope it is all sorted on Thursday and the bill isn't too bad.
