Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

So, I've been out happy snapping today with my camera to find that the girls are not very impressed with the dust bath I made in their run the other day so decided to use one they had made earlier under the old wooden chicken house... Hope the pictures work, fingers crossed

 

 

"What?? I'm only taking a bath!!"

Thanks for your replies It's been a tough week after losing Pepper but they've cheered me up so much today with their funny antics

I think they've found the only dry spot in the whole garden

 

You'll see from the pictures that Bluebell and Amber are quite big girls and Poppy's only little, bless her, so the big girls will have a lot more digging to do if they want to get under that wooden house

Lol! I have a similar problem. I bought a nice big tub trug - red because we all know they love red. Not mine it appears. I've set it up in the greenhouse so it's nice and dry. Nope, it is a horrible nasty monster. But someone ate the mealworms I scattered in there, so it wasn't that bad! Their outdoor bath is currently full of wet dirt - although the meeces are happily tucked around the edge under leaves - sadly the cover has seen so much wet that it is no longer waterproof hence going to find something better and temporary!!!!

Ungrateful brats, mine! Glad to see yours are really enjoying the new patch.

Thanks They still won't use the one in the run. After they've eaten in the morning they go digging in it instead. I may have to put that old wooden chicken house on bricks so they can all fit under Although it may get wet under there then with all this rain we're having

Happy to report success. Skye the pekin was happily doing her roadkill impersonation in there yesterday!
