The Dogmother
Fee, Roxanne will stay that colour but her adult feathers will have an almost oily shine to them... like patent leather. Tracey, Biscuit is a cream tabby cross - he's a big, cuddly ball of fluff and loves to hug his mummy

The Dogmother
Sorry Chelsea, any time you're up here, feel free to come and see them. I just had to replace Ruby Tuesday - the garden wasn't the same without her showy plumage.
chelsea
Awww thanks, would love to if we ever venture up that way!! You have a stunning flock now....maybe you should "show" your girls?!
The Dogmother
I'd love to Chelsea, but I don't think that any of them are 'show quality'. I love them all to bits though. Made me laugh thinking of showing Fleur, my white japanese bantam - she'd never stay clean long enough - the little darling loves to get all muddy
Guest
Are they all living together now? I bet they look truly amazing free ranging around your garden
Jools
RIR bantams are the most gorgeous birds - second only to Marans Seriously, their colour is so under-rated. It's the most gorgeous chocolate which shines with a really deep green in the sun. Stunning girls! And wonderful layers too. Not to mention great characters - if a little noisey when about to lay My latest (Vera) was such an ugly duckling when I got her in March. I called her Vera the Velociraptor because that's what she looked like. Now she's completely beautiful though ! Really hope you enjoy your new girls Clare! Martin B
Made me laugh thinking of showing Fleur, my white japanese bantam - she'd never stay clean long enough - the little darling loves to get all muddy Fleur would be a good show bird. To stop her getting dirty you need to bring them in 2 nights before, bath them, house them in a show cage with only newspaper in. Then wash her the night before the show and on that morning! Poor soul!
Lindy Loo
Lovely girls Clare - no wonder you couldn't say no to them!
The Dogmother
Are they all living together now? I bet they look truly amazing free ranging around your garden Not yet Dilly, the newbies are in the rablu (bunnies back in their luxury duplex hutch), I am letting them out when I get home and put the others in their run. I'll have them all freeranging together tonight though. The newbies are hard work to get back in though... because they've not been mingling with the others, they haven't yet learned to coe when I whistle and don't understand the magical properties of corn Martin, Fleur is very pretty, but she'd never get placed at a show - she's not 'typey' enough. I don't want to get caught up in all the work invloved in showing.. I just don't have the time, I'd much rather spend it enjoying my chooks in the garden.
