Chickabee
Has anybody used this. I've just been reading about it and it sounds great. You just add it to the chooks drinking water. It's completely natural and no egg withdrawal Would like some honest opinions before I buy it
Redwing
I'm very dubious that these sorts of things work, I haven't heard anything good about these sorts of products but will decline to comment on that one in particular as I have no direct experience of it The reason I wouldn't use such a product is that it assumes you to have red mite. I would rather put my energies in to preventing red mite In the coop rather than keeping the chickens themselves mite free as with my method there will be no mites on the bird in the first place
Chickabee
Thanks Redwing. It does say you should still use powder etc as part of your routine
sjp
I started to used it late last year and it did seem to work until I knocked it off the window cill as I went to pick it up lost nearly all of the bottle
Chickabee
I've just got rid of red mite, that's why I was interested. I've got all omlet runs and housing! So hopefully I can keep on top of it
Redwing
Hmmm I suppose for Northern Fowl mite it may be worth looking at but for red mite I wouldn't use a product like that the same way that I wouldn't put a tent inside my house to keep the rain off me! Chickabee
redwing, that is the funniest thing you've ever said made my day. Don't think I need this potion
miller30
All my birds are on redstop but I also spray and powder all my coops out to hopefully keep them away I don't think you can ever not have redmite its about keeping the numbers down leanne
The Dogmother
I don't think it can work... I was up at my Supplier last weekend when a chap came in who'd been using that and still had red mites. I'd stick to a good spot-on preventative on your birds, and a scrupulous regime on your coops.... Total Mite Kill Concentrate and Buz Busters louse powder work fine for me. miller30
Redstop does not stop you from getting redmite you still get them and need to spray and powder but they cannot feed of your birds meaning they cannot breed and they cant harm your birds so will die off in the end ive been using this product since last spring and all my birds are fine leanne
Millie-Annie
We use Diatoms they seem work well
