Neasey
Hello Everyone, This is my first time on the Forum although I've had my lovely ladies since March...I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to computers!! anyway I am addicted to the site and feel I have to thank you all, every last one of you that uses this site as you have helped save the day. I found a local Vet who was happy to take on my Chickens and having asked her to provide some worming powder suggesting Flubenvet (details I had taken from this site) she undertook some research and promptly obtain some for me. She told me the dose was....wait for it... 50g per .5KG of pellets. Well I dutifully went home and prepared the pellets with powder thinking all the time that it looked excessive but I still gave it to my babies. They turned up their beaks so I mixed some with mash potatoe. they had a few mouth fulls but were not impressed. Next morning I got into to work went straight onto the forum, cos I just wasn't happy and discovered to my horror that I had possibly given my chooks an overdose. I left work immediately (thank god for an understanding boss) dashed up the M27 to my home, took every last trace of food from the run and rang the vets. I had to wait 30 mins for her to ring me back and I was fraught, I hadn't realised just how much those little birds mean't to me I was in floods of tears. Well the vet rang back apologising profusely and assured me that no damage would be done to my girls. Apologies for this long and rambling communication but I wanted you all to know that because this is such a brilliant site and you all talk to one another I was able to prevent a disaster. So "Keep Talking" and thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.
Laura & CTB
Wow what a shock for you! I'm so glad you managed to sort it out okay. The forum is just fabulous isn't it? I would not have felt confident enough to get my hens in the first place without it. Anyway, now you're here - a big welcome
