We have a regular postman who is very friendly, and a really lovely chap.

 

I've been waiting in for my re-glazed glasses to arrive, they were sent yesterday by Special Delivery. I saw the postman walk up my drive. It wasn't my usual chap, and as soon as I saw him, I started to walk to the front door.

 

He rang the bell just as I reached the door to open it. By the time I had opened it, he was halfway down my drive on his way out!

 

He had assumed there wouldn't be anyone in so had rung the bell but hadn't waited. If I hadn't already got to the door, he would have been half way down the street.

 

Naughty man.

Annoying isn't it.

We had one do a similar thing but ringing the doorbell and then leaving the signed for item on our doorstep and signing it themselves

at least he rang the bell I've seen posties and delivery drivers put the 'we called while you were out card' through the letter box without even ringing the bell

I've had plants chucked over the back gate with no card left and not found them for 5 or 4 days one lot were frozen the other soaking wet

My usual postman is great - leaving stuff at the side, finding me in the village - even chasing me when I was walking the dog once but he had friday off and the replacement returned my parcel back to the local office - it wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been my only birthday present

My postie at home is good, but have had all of the above - and worse - at work before now. Hermes delivery drivers seem to be the worst... they used to lob their deliveries over the gate at work and it would end up going under the bars in the cattle grid
