Will take leave for a bit.

Recommended Posts

OH said he doesn't think he will get the run finished in time for getting chooks in August. He is very busy at work and helping a friend the next few Saturdays. (I think his fear is having to dig the weld mesh into the ground. He says it's too hot for digging!).

Anyhow, I am not gone just stepping back til I have exciting news. :silenced:

Gosh I was like a voyuer for months before getting my girls, it's a great place to catch up on a wealth of knowledge and you will feel more confident for having read everyone else's worries and neurosis :)

Look forward to seeing your posts when you finally get your girls, and it will be worth the wait I promise....

Thank you. I have been through all the run pics several times and read so much on here and other forums. I am a bit upset the girls are on hold til he decides to finish the run but they will come eventually. I shall upload pics of the run so far in the run forum later.

Mention to the OH that you're thinking of getting someone in to finish it... Might speed up the process and then you can get your chooks.

Haha that's hysterical Paula, I do that all the time to Big Al.....if he is stalling doing something I say, how much will it cost to get a painter, decorator, carpenter, plumber etc etc...he is very territorial so gets a wriggle on then:)

Hi Pixie dust,we didn't dig our wire in.We put it around the perimeter a couple of inches into run and about 6 inches beyond run and staked it down. The wire came in pre cut strips with WIR from flyte so fancy. It was relatively painless.

Hi thanks for that info. I decided I wanted to have it dug in. Our neighbour has lost nearly all her chooks as she allows them to free range even when she is out! However she has dug her chicken wire in 6" and the fox has not got any over night. So I am being ultra cautious.
