Staying in unusual properties

Recommended Posts

I have always hankered after staying in a quirky property for a holiday - a lighthouse, a cave or something. Not a grotty one, but one that is all done out inside.

Yesterday a friend of mine posted on Facebook about this place, & I have booked it up for a 2 night stay over our anniversary next year. The Husband loves tree houses, I love luxury, so it should suit us both :D

That's an amazing place Cinnamon. We used to anniversary in the Prince Rupert hotel in Shrewsbury. Timber built in 1500 and something. All the walls and floors were crooked and the optical illusion created in the bath was that the water at the other end sloped upwards/ downwards. Close inspection revealed 3" blocks under the feet at one end to level it up. It was the room that sloped, the bath was level. Sadly it became more run down with every visit. The final straw was when they replaced some of the original leaded windows with uPVC double glazing! Our options are limited because our anniversary is in December.
