The idea is to create knitted, crocheted or fabric ducks (I'm sure felted ones would work, too!) and attach a label about organ donation, and leave them for someone to find, both as a random act of kindness and to spread the word about organ and blood donation. There's a Duck Map showing all the ones that have been reported found. I think it's a great idea, and I thought perhaps some fellow Omleteers with no crafty swap on hand at the moment might think likewise! Then some at the old Abbey where lots of tourists & walkers visit. Hmm a few on the sea front...oh my mind is running away with me now! Sounds great! Organ donation is different here in Wales. craftyhunnypie Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 I ordered from Wool Warehouse! They are called Cornerstone hooks. I ordered a 4mm one, as I use a lot of the Stylecraft DK yarn. I just love the colours, the softness of the yarn & the fact that it washes good in the washing machine. They do yarn packs of the stuff on that website reasonable price......it's lethal! You would hope whoever finds them and takes them home keeps up their end of the deal, or if they are not going to do so leave it for someone who appreciates the aim behind them.
