Weekend in Bath

Recommended Posts

I have just come back from a valentine weekend in Bath, what a beautiful city! There is so much to do and really is so interesting. I even went on the wholly trolley!! (Open top tour bus):oops:

We left Bath this morning and had the day at the Cheddar gorge, again it was such a lovely little village but we needed longer than we had

We drove from London Friday and once we left the motorway I loved looking at people's houses and gardens...One thing OH said is " I can see you looking in gardens for hens" and he was right.

Bath is a beautiful place. I stayed there for medical reasons with my daughter for three weeks a couple of years ago and just loved the place. If I ever won the lottery, I'd buy a penthouse apartment there so I could spend weekends there :D I love that it has all the history, the main shops and the little backstreets with quirky shops. Glad you enjoyed it too. Cheddar is really lovely too. Did you go up Jacobs Ladder and the viewpoint at the top? I've done the steps, but fear of heights stopped me going up the tower :( Last time we were there with the kids we ate at an amazing fish and chip shop. Best fish and chips ever

Oh in so upset, I so fancied chips but OH wanted to wait till we were halfway home and we ended up at rank services:((

I wanted to do Jacobs ladder (not just as I'm a fan of the film) but time was against us, my dog was unwel and my daughter was looking after him but had plans in the evening.

I have a hotel voucher for £500 that was a birthday gift from my boss and we are planning another break in that area.

DM your so right  I was saying to OH "oh look!" Every ten minutes!! On the way down we went past a pig farm, I can honestly say I have never seen pigs with so much room to roam and wallow....it was so lovely to see

Sounds like you had a fab time!

I would love to go to Bath but OH doesn't like cities :(

I know it's a city but it doesn't seem like a city, it's so quaint, it really is lovely! Alternatively leave OH indoors and go with a pal

We stayed about a mile outside in The Bailbrook hotel & spa..was very nice!!

I grew up there and went to school there, its not as nice as it used to be, it seems to be full of s"Ooops, word censored!"by inconsiderate people now when I go back there.

I hate the place!

Oh dear, didn't really get that, I guess as not having been there beforeI have nothing to compare it to but I have to say the homeless and beggers were in abundance but I still thought it was a lovely place to have a valentine weekend
