clipclopboc
I was thinking of buying a pressure washer to clean the eglus. Is it worth it? I currently use a nice, powerful hosepipe (with attachment) and a bucket brush. But anything to make my life easier... Worth buying?
mullethunter
We have a Karcher one which I use and it is brilliant. I usually still use a bucket brush too to get the roosting bars really clean but I don't really need to. However we (I say we, I mean OH!) bought said pressure washer for OH to wash his car, I would never have bought one especially!
Cat tails
I was thinking of getting a steam cleaner. Saw a few pictures of someone cleaning a Go with one, and it looked really nice and easy. No water splashing around either.
Olly
A pressure washer is worth having. Just that! I don't use mine to clean the Eglu every time, it's easier for me just to get the hosepipe out and I find that does a good enough job but once or twice a year I give it a pressure wash. It's also fabulous for cleaning paving stones, garden furniture, pots, dirty masonry, and of course the car. Go on, you know you want one! Cat tails
The neighbours backing on my garden have one too and apparently loads of paving stones in their garden or a million pieces or mossy garden furniture... They use the *bleeping* thing at least two full weekends at the beginning of the season. So that's a four whole days of the drone of that pressure washer and of course the mist wafting into my garden. And I always discover their activity AFTER I put my washing out to dry.. Rant over! Go for it! Get one! There is at least a whole sea between you and me!
Ain't Nobody Here
I agree, they are annoyingly noisy! But I wouldn't be without mine now, it's brilliant .
Margaret
Wouldnt be without mine, can dismantle and clean Cube in less than 30 mins now. Brilliant. Mind you last year it froze, as I keep it in the garage and was so frustrated, as I had dismantled everything and had to do it by hand. Stagsbrae
I only use the pressure washer occasionally as it is infectious - I end up doing the paving, decking, garden furniture and other bits and pieces at the same time! You can pick them up quite cheaply from DIY stores nowadays. I never find our steam cleaner is that great for anything other than the kitchen floor? Ain't Nobody Here
It is a bit compelling to keep using it, isn't it . I've learnt to my cost not to clean paving slabs too well (ie not go too close with the wand) as then you have to work harder to get the rest looking as good! Olly
I was going to add something similar! Under no circumstances should you try the pressure washer on a corner of the patio 'just to see'. You'll end up cleaning the whole thing even though you hadn't planned to.
Beantree
We had a Karcher pressure washer, which was brilliant for cleaning stuff but the pump housing split 2 weeks out of guarantee and the whole unit was s"Ooops, word censored!". It was plastic surprisingly, so the next we buy will be a Michelin which has an aluminium pump housing.
clipclopboc
I did it. I went and bought a pressure washer. Not an expensive one, went with a reasonably priced one with good reviews. I didn't want to be bending and scrubbing to clean Gos and Classic, I do enough manual work keeping horses. Well, like you say, what can't you clean with it?! It'll be out again the next fine weekend. Money well spent.
Ain't Nobody Here
You won't regret it . I had mine out at the w/e - it's so satisfying to use .
Guest
I find a pressure washer great to clean my wheely bins, I do like having clean bins. Unfortunately then I also wash the car "while I have the washer set up", then I decide the decking looks grubby and wondering if the guttering needs a clean ...... by the end I have cleaned everything in reach and end up completely covered in muck/ Obviously I give my wellies a quick blast before packing washy away for another few weeks. Cat tails
I still hate pressure washers! But I might have accidently bought one...

Cat tails
Didn't know my paving stones had this colour! Too bad great deal of the muck ended up on me... Or my windows... So did those too, look very clean now!
Ain't Nobody Here
It's like painting the Forth Road Bridge, never-ending .
Cat tails
Yes! I have a manhole just outside my garden gate door and washed all the dirty water over there. Then wanted to flush it down the drain and discovered that the paving stones of the council are actually yellowish! Not dirty grey! So did a few of those as well... Ain't Nobody Here
Step away from the pressure washer .
Cat tails
Hahaha! I did, no worries! I so desperately needed a shower... I had splatter all over! I didn't even get to pressure washing the Eglu roosting bars. The ladies were hiding in their coop anyway. Big scary yellow thing is to be feared! Cat tails
Look I'm not kidding! This is a pic of the paving stones of the council!

Cat tails
Well this is were it will end! Luckily hoses and cables of my pressure washer are just not long enough. I did discover that I have two council stones in my garden...
