All chickens were crowing and it sounded like the removals men had moved in. I finally looked at my watch and thought, I've got to do something about this. I threw some food in the big run. Then went round to the exbats. I put some food in at the back but they didn't come running. One of the girls was lying dying in the corner and they were all standing over her .
