Egg overload - record for egg numbers?

Recommended Posts

We have been really lucky and had three eggs nearly every day since the ladies started lying.

Every couple of weeks we get a softie and so only have two the next day.

The girls are so good to us. :D

So they are cheating then huh?

Popping down to the supermarket on the quiet to fool you

I hope they aren't going to the Supermarket, there's too many big roads to cross and the local shop won't stock free range eggs!

I now have visions of them opening boxes of eggs to make sure they pick the right colors so we'll never work out their sneaky plans :D

our biggest was 85g; but we do get 4 most days, and the days we only get 3 I tend to think it's coz one of the broody mares has been hogging the nest all day! I have been trying to look round the garden, but the weather is SO vile at the moment, I just give up! must try and calculate how many we've had since they started laying in mid-June...

Hilda has laid every day since she first started laying in March; I don't think she's ever missed one. I had three or four whopping 100g+eggs at the start, but I think she was just settling down - they were double-yolkers, and great fun but it worried me that it was putting a strain on her so I'm glad they have stopped.

Siggy has laid almost every day - I think she's missed about three. I just assumed this was what they did, at least while they are young! I'd be lost without my regular egg supply - couldn't bear to buy supermarket eggs again.
