menagerie
Just wanted to say how well our hens are doing - we've had 45 eggs since 3rd August from them, and Scarlett has laid 18 days on the trot! Is this average or are my hens superhens? The record size was 67g from Sandie which was rather impressive.

lisa33
We have been really lucky and had three eggs nearly every day since the ladies started lying. Every couple of weeks we get a softie and so only have two the next day. The girls are so good to us.

Martin B
Mine used to be pretty consistent. But they're dropping off a bit now. Getting 8 a week, not 14 like I used to.
Shirl
Are yours dropping off as the girls are getting older? How old are they?

Popping down to the supermarket on the quiet to fool you I hope they aren't going to the Supermarket, there's too many big roads to cross and the local shop won't stock free range eggs! I now have visions of them opening boxes of eggs to make sure they pick the right colors so we'll never work out their sneaky plans

beach chick
our biggest was 85g; but we do get 4 most days, and the days we only get 3 I tend to think it's coz one of the broody mares has been hogging the nest all day! I have been trying to look round the garden, but the weather is SO vile at the moment, I just give up! must try and calculate how many we've had since they started laying in mid-June... cutechicky
Nice egg! I would certainly like one for breakfast! Can't wait until mine start laying~!
Olly
Hilda has laid every day since she first started laying in March; I don't think she's ever missed one. I had three or four whopping 100g+eggs at the start, but I think she was just settling down - they were double-yolkers, and great fun but it worried me that it was putting a strain on her so I'm glad they have stopped. Siggy has laid almost every day - I think she's missed about three. I just assumed this was what they did, at least while they are young! I'd be lost without my regular egg supply - couldn't bear to buy supermarket eggs again.
