Monty14
We have heavy clay soil which doesn't drain and leads to a boggy, waterlogged garden. We've kept chooks for 6 years now but this last winter has seen the constant rain turn the garden into a mudbath which is no fun for the girls. We intend to get someone in to dig it out, lay sand and returf but what to do with the hens? Do we get one side done and then move the girls to there whilst the rest is sorted? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Cheers for any advice.
mullethunter
I don't suppose you have a patio you could put them on?
Cat tails
That's what I did. Bag of woodchip in the run and they are happy enough.
Lewis
Yes, maybe move them to the other side of the garden or a patio. Will the chickens be on the new turf or in a Walk In Run? If so, could the base for that be laid and then put them in there while the rest of the garden is sorted out?
