Casey76
Evening all; just thought I'd stop by and say 'hi.' I've just taken the plunge and ordered an Eglu cube and walk in cage I haven't had chickens for about 4 years, but prior to this break I used to breed sabelpoots and other soft feather breeds, as well as raising day olds for meat. I'm hoping that the walk in cage will help with biosecurity as we have a real problem with martens here. Anyway, everything should be here next week, and hopefully some layers will follow a few days later

Casey76
I'm getting a green one. I really need to blend as much as possible. As for breeds - well I'll probably get a trio of production red or black layers to start with. Then once the agri centre gets the day olds in I'll order a trio of leghorns - I've never had white eggs before. After that I might have to get a couple of fancy birds, possibly white Marans or some dotes - who knows I know I'll need to restrain myself, as I'll have limited space this time. At my peak I have about 50 chickens, everything from brahmas to sabelpoots.
Lewis
Welcome to the forum Sounds like you had a great mix of breeds previously! Look forward to hearing how you get on with the Cube and WIR, should be a dream compared to other wooden housing.
