Groovychook
To cut a long story short, my SIL has decided to give up keeping chickens. She was looking to re home them and I agreed to take on 4 pekin pullets at short notice. I spent a frantic day dividing the run and organising spare housing and my mother in law drove them from Gloucestershire down to us on Friday. They are sweet little things but not yet POL as I'd been led to believe. I guess they'll be in separate quarters for a good while longer! I've had to do a fair bit of foot cleaning. My SIL hadn't had time to look after them properly, so not her fault, but one of them had a hard, clay golf sized ball attached to it's foot One of them is being bullied at the moment but apparently she came from another trio and her come is less well developed. I'm hoping things will calm down soon. Anyway, here are a few pics! Carla, Sylvia and Eva Bottom of the pecking order, Faye Introductions! My lot are not impressed with their reduced living quarters

Groovychook
Just wanted to say I am extremely about the plastic house and the giant, lilac eggy dust bath Thank you I'm really pleased with the house... it's a plastic kennel off ebay! I bought it in a rush for about £35 because I needed something quickly. It arrived the very next day Here's a linky... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351466198084?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=620549249255&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It's not double walled but it has ventilation and will do as a temporary house. I thought that it would do as a shelter for the pup and the cats afterwards. I bought the eggy thing ages ago as a spare nest box. "Ooops, word censored!"ody uses it but Norris tries to usher the ladies into it constantly Carla, the black pekin laid her first egg this afternoon
Luvachicken
Do the chickens like sitting on the roof of the little house ? I'm thinking that as my girls have lost one of their fun things, a cute house could make up for it. Shame it's not Christmas already

heather_hedgehog
Cute hens and I love the egg dust bath, where did you get it?
Groovychook
Thanks all I seem to remember that I got the egg bed from pet planet. It was called a Pet Pod. It was about £20 but I'd completed an online research survey for them and I decided to blow my earnings on it rather than something sensible! I struggled to justify why I needed it so badly at the time but it was egg shaped... enough said!
