emmalou
I read somewhere it isn't as we are getting our coop ready and we have lots of ivy over a tree in the coop. I think chickens are quite savvy to some plants that they cannot eat but here in general was the list I found for poisonous plants. Not sure how accurate it is. Bloodroot Bull Nettle Bracken Bryony Carelessweed Castor Bean Cocklebur Curly Dock Delphinium Fern, Foxglove Ground Ivy Hemlock Horse Chestnut Horse Radish Hyacinth Hydrangea Ivy Laburnum (seed) Lantana Lily of the Valley Nightshade (Also called Deadly Nightshade) Rhododendron St. Johns Wort Tulip Water Hemlock (Cicuta maculata L.) Yew

Cat tails
Most chickens haven't heard about that list or decided to ignore it altogether... Mine have eaten: hydrangea, ivy, hyacinth, tomato, fern and anything else green. The only things they don't touch are lavender. Oh and they only plucked all the leaves of the pansies, but not eaten them...
emmalou
Don't shoot the messenger! I just don't want my birds keeling over within a few hours of arriving.
Cat tails
No problem Emma! Just to say that even if they ate some, they don't immidiately die from it. Of course you should be careful, but you don't have to worry that much.
emmalou
I know that cats can have quite adverse reactions to many flowers etc. I am not sure how this affects chickens?
